Most American adults can drive a car, but that doesn’t mean they know what to do when something’s wrong with it. This way, when the car starts making crazy sounds, we will at least be able to make an educated guess about where it might be coming from.

Cylinder

The most basic component of any engine is the cylinder, with basic engines having one cylinder and cars having as many as eight. Cylinders can be arranged in three different ways; inline, V or flat. The configuration of the cylinders affect the smoothness and different options work best depending on the vehicle.
